Investment in tech startups last fortnight of the year
Javier Megías, co-founder of Startupxplore, during the business angels congress held the last week of December in Valencia, said that investment in startups so far this year has already reached €400 M distributed in 2,638 startups. In the last 15 days companies such as La Comunity, Ad-Pure, Paypro, Groopify and Upplication have received funding. These companies are each from a different technology sector and are a good reflection of the technology sectors that have been most active in 2015.

The Community receives €350,000.

LaComunity is a holiday home rental portal that has just received €350,000 from Emprendetur and Caixa Capital risk. LaComunity will use the resources obtained to continue expanding in international markets such as France, Holland, Mexico, Argentina and Colombia. In addition, over the next six months it intends to add more than 100,000 new properties around the world, making it one of the top 3 websites with the largest number of properties in Europe, and the second largest in Spain, with a total of 150,000 properties. "This year we have seen several technology companies in the vacation rental space receive funding, such as Lodgify, Apartum and Bemate. Each has a different business model. Lodgify is a portal for holiday home website creation and booking management. Apartum is a holiday flat comparator, using an advanced proprietary algorithm able to detect if the same flat is present on more than one booking website and always shows the best price. Bemate has focused on holiday home rentals with hotel service, where travellers can book a flat without giving up a series of included services such as key collection and delivery at the hotel, luggage storage or 24-hour concierge" says Diego Gutierrez of Bemate. Paypro closes a €310,000 round of funding

The PayProis an online tool that allows payments to be made in over 30 currencies and to over 200 countries, saving up to 90% of fees. The investment was led by Idodi Venture Capital and Lanta Capital. “El sector fintech es España aunque está todavía muy por detrás de países como Reino Unido, que lidera el mercado en Europa, ha crecido considerablemente este año y se han llegado a crear 83 compañias de este tipo en 2015. De cara al próximo año, estas compañías tendrán que hacer frente a una serie de retos, entre los que se encuentran la regulación, las compras y M&A transactions y la transformación digital de la banca, tres aspectos que podrían ayudar a consolidar su negocio”

Ad-Pure closes a round thanks to Crowdequity

Ad-Pure looks at how environmental factors can affect an advertising campaign and provides the tools to adapt marketing campaigns to these factors. The company has just completed an equity crowdfunding campaign in which it has raised €201,000 through The Crowd Angel and in which 43 investors have participated. In addition, three Family Offices from the investment group Reus Tarragona Business Angels have contributed the remaining €100,000 to complete the round.

Upplication, receives €1.1M

Upplication is a web tool that allows entrepreneurs to create an App automatically in simple steps and at zero cost. With Upplication you can create all kinds of Apps containing video, text, photo, audio, etc. The round was led by Corporation Global and several business angels also participated.

Groopify receives its second round of €800.000

The aim of Groopefy is to create a new way of establishing social connections. All through plans and activities in the real world, but created from an algorithm, between people and groups who do not know each other, but for reasons of tastes and hobbies should know each other. This would be its second capital increase operation, raising a total of €1.3m. The aim of the round is to be able to enter the international market.
