New Venture Capital Funds: N+1 and Capitana Ventures

In 2016 venture capital and private equity raised €1,481M in new funds. This year 2016 seems to continue to meet the favourable conditions for fundraising: liquidity in the markets, interest from international LPs in VC&PE firms and support for the sector through public funds of funds (Innvierte and Fond-ICO global). We have recently heard about new fundraising: N+1 has raised €400M for its new fund and Capitana Ventures Partners is raising new funds for Capitana Tech Fund.

Siroco capital Engie, and Fondico: New venture capital funds

As we saw in our post last week, venture capital is in a good moment in Spain. If in May we had already talked about the creation of new technology venture capital funds, now we have news that Fondi-ico, the fund of funds has opened its 5th call. We have also recently heard about the creation of new funds for the energy sector, such as Siroco Capital and Engie.

New funds for technology companies: Galdana, Antai, cdti and fondico.

In 2014, venture capital investment in technology companies grew considerably, partly due to the entry of international funds, which see an opportunity in Spanish technology companies. It seems that this positive trend will continue to grow in 2015. Proof of this is that Spanish venture capital is creating new funds for technology companies. In March alone, Antai Venture Builder has raised its fund to €25M, Galdana Ventures has been created to offer investors in Spain and Latin America advice and access to the best international Venture Capital managers, Fond-ico has distributed €124M and the CDTI has launched a new technology fund.
