SPRI - Publicly Sponsored Financing

As in other autonomous communities, the Basque Country has been offering a guarantee by the administrations so that SMEs can access financing from financial institutions, thus improving their chances of success. The presentation is not simple and requires a good dialogue with the bank and experience in the specific line.

Who can benefit from this guarantee?

SMEs domiciled or established in the Basque Country

Individual entrepreneurs and self-employed professionals domiciled in the BAC, provided that they are registered in the special regime for self-employed workers or freelancers and obtain income from activities subject to personal income tax.

What type of financing do financial institutions offer with this guarantee?

Financial institutions shall have the autonomy to grant or refuse requests for funding that they receive.

The loans will be used to increase the financing of working capital and the acquisition of fixed assets.

Loan amounts range from €50,000 to €750,000 for small and medium-sized enterprises and from €10,000 to €100,000 for sole proprietorships and self-employed professionals.

The term of the loan will be from 3 to 5 years, with an optional grace period for the principal repayment or 7 years with 2 optional grace periods for the principal repayment.

The interest rate shall be EURIBOR plus a margin of 4%.

Are these aids compatible with other aids?

The aid will be cumulated with any other de minimis aid granted to the company by the public administration as long as it does not exceed the limit of €200,000 of subsidy during a period of 3 financial years.

Beneficiary companies must notify the receipt of other subsidies, aid or guarantees, as well as de minimis aid received for the same purpose both during the current and previous fiscal years.

Guarantees provided by the Administration of the Basque Autonomous Community to financial institutions

The administration of the Cav irrevocably assumes and solidly guarantees a 60% on the principal amount and a maximum of 6 months interest.
