ICT applied to medicine receives funding: Psious and Neurobia
In 2015 we already saw how investment in E-health gained strength in our country, especially thanks to new platforms for finding and contacting doctors, this year we are going a step further and in 2016 it seems that the use of tics for the treatment of diseases will also be one of the preferences of investors.

Psious secures €1M in investment

The Barcelona start-up Psious, which offers 3D solutions designed to treat anxiety disorders such as fear of flying, agoraphobia or panic at heights, has received a €1M funding round led by the venture capital firm of Silicon Valley, Rothenberg Ventures.

The objective of the round is to complete product development and create a commercial team in order to lay the foundations for growth.

The aim of Psious is to become a virtual reality platform in the health sector. The technology developed is already being used by private psychologists in several countries and in institutions such as Stanford University and the Hospital del Mar in Barcelona.

In 2016, Psious expects to achieve a turnover of €1M, 60% from international markets, and in three years, around €10M.

Recently, the Barcelona start-up was selected as one of the seven game-changers of the moment in the latest annual report by the investment community CB Insights.

Business in fact closes first round of funding at Neurobia

Neurobia is a startup that is developing a medical device that will make it possible to quantitatively assess and rehabilitate people who have suffered some kind of brain damage, especially cerebrovascular accidents such as strokes, head injuries and tumours. The tool provides patients and professionals with the means to reduce recovery times for this type of patient.

Neurobia Research has become the first success story of the Inviertelab programme. This programme is organised by the Andalusian public universities and led by the Chair of Entrepreneurship of the University of Cadiz directed by Mr. José Ruíz Navarro. This entrepreneurial success has managed to increase the strength of the Inviertelab organisers to double its activity.
