Good month for venture capital
In May, venture capital has been reactivated, according to TTR In Spain, a total of 17 operations were carried out and capital of €1,632.6M was mobilised, surpassing all annual records. Specifically, the data show an increase compared to April of 88.89% in the number of operations and 1,159.82% in the capital mobilised.
This reactivation is mainly the result of the closing of major transactions such as the acquisition of Neinor from Kutxabank by the US fund Lone Star (€930M) or the divestment of MCH and Trilantic Capital Partners in Talgo through its IPO (€569.57M).
The key startups Spanish companies generated more than €39m of investment in the last week of May alone.
Only during the last seven days of May did the startups The Spanish funds raised more than €39M, almost the same amount that was invested in the whole of the first four months of 2014 (€43.4M).

In the first quarter of 2015, more than €109M was invested in a total of 48 rounds, which represents 152% more investment raised than in the same period last year. The vast majority of the investments were participated or led by foreign venture capital funds, 17% of the capital invested came from Spanish funds and business angels, which places Spain in the international investment landscape.
