Entertainment investments that bridge reality and the virtual world
In recent years, the entertainment industry has evolved a lot, users are no longer satisfied with controlling characters with a controller, now they themselves want to get into that reality. Large technology companies are investing millions of dollars to make technology "almost real worlds".

Companies that allow you to interact with the console, without the need for a controller

The Kinect Microsoft's new technology, which made it possible to interact with the video game without the need for controllers, was a boom for the video game market and little by little both venture capital and large corporations have seen in this type of technology a great opportunity.

Thus, in November 2013 Apple acquired PrimeSensethe company responsible for the technology that made the Xbox 360 Kinect sensor possible for M 345$.

Omek Interactivea software company founded in 2007 and dedicated to developing gesture recognition technology, has since its founding been awarded 3 financing roundsThe last of these was in 2012, a round of $9M. One year later, in July 2013, Omek Interactive was acquired by Intel for an amount of M40$.

"Intel has acquired several companies in 2013 for a total amount of $266M."

Leap MotionThe new gesture control device, a tiny device that placed in front of our computer screen is able to capture with enormous precision the movements of our hands, fingers and even objects, has received 3 rounds of funding for a total amount of $44.10M, the last of these rounds was held in January 2013 and involved the founding partners and Highland Capital Partners.

Companies that allow entry into virtual reality

The purchase of Oculus Rift by facebook is perhaps one of the most talked-about operations of recent months, and Mark Zuckerberg's company has bought for $2,000M, this device focused on offering a more inverse experience in the world of video games, with a virtual reality system that promises to be one of the ways of development of the sector in the future.

Little by little, companies have been emerging to compete against this big one, one of them is Avengant Glyph Avengant Glyph, a kind of virtual reality viewer/headset mash-up that promises to blend audio and video into a unique immersive experience. Avengant Glyph was asking for $250,000 in Kickstarter to make it happen and in just a couple of days they have achieved much more than twice as much.
