Major operations in Latin American countries

According to TTR , Brazil is the country in which the most transactions have taken place, with 50 operations, one of the most important being the acquisition of Vigor Food $173.39M from FB Participações.

In addition, talks have begun to increase these relations, which seems to anticipate that this trend will continue in the coming months. The Chilean CSAV, dedicated to the maritime transport of goods, has agreed to acquire a 30%  Hapag Lloyd, German company active in the same sector.

On the other hand, European companies have signed some 22 mergers and acquisitions in Latin America, surpassing North America, which is usually a regular buyer, which has carried out 16 deals in Latin America. purchase.

In Spain, Cofides has launched, together with the CAF, Latin America's development bank, a support plan to improve the chances of success of investment projects in the 2 parties.

Most active sectors by number of transactions

Among the most active sectors, there are newer sectors such as internet and technology in countries such as Brazil, Argentina and Chile, but also more traditional sectors such as finance and insurance in Brazil and glass, ceramics and paper in Chile.

"Just this month, the Chilean company BioBio papers has purchased the 49% from the Brazilian company Norske Spog Pisa for $40M, thus achieving the acquisition of the company's 100%", says Diego Gutierrez, an expert in alternative financing of the group. Abra-Invest.
