Companies that have received venture capital funding : Winko Games, PlayGiga
Winko Games raised its first €1.2M round of funding in June 2015 from investors such as London Venture Partners, Initial Capital and Kibo Ventures. These investors have previously been involved in other video game companies such as Supercell or NaturalMotion.
Winko Game's objective with this round is to revolutionise the video game sector, getting hardcore gamers, who until now preferred the console or the computer, to opt for the mobile phone. To do this, it wants to offer video games that are interesting enough to attract this type of player to mobile devices.
For David Gardner of London Venture Partners, "the games hardcore for mobile devices will be one of the fastest growing segments in the coming years. Winko Games is in the right place, at the right time, and with a great team to deliver.
PlayGiga, received a €5M round in July 2015, enabling it to establish itself as a leader in cloud gaming and achieve further international expansion.
Investors include Adara Ventures, which already backed the project in 2013 with more than €1M, Bankinter, Caixa Capital Risc and Inveready.
Videogames present in crowdfunding: Mad Gear Games and Time Machine
The games category is one of the most important categories on many crowdfunding platforms, such as Kickstarter.. For example, Mad Gear Games a company from Cádiz, has used this platform to carry out its campaign to finance the completion of its game '.A Hole New World‘.The company achieved 9,831 $, which is more than the 8000$ they had targeted.

Gamebcn Incubation Programme
Gamebcnthe Barcelona videogame incubator, is inaugurating its second edition. A maximum of 10 teams will be selected to participate in the incubation programme, which will start on 1 October and end at the end of March 2016. Registrations are open until 12 September 2015.
Gamebcn was created in 2014 with the aim of helping to transform video game projects into consolidated companies with potential growth. The programme is an initiative of Incubio, Caixa Capital Risc and the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya, through the Institut Català d'Empreses Culturals. It also has Barcelona Activa as a strategic partner.
The 2015 - 2016 programme will follow a similar format to the previous edition: it will consist of a 6-month incubation process starting in October 2015, followed by an acceleration programme for the most qualified teams.
