Atos invests more than $3.4 billion in buyouts

We analyse from our field of corporate finance look at the most recent buying a company latest from Atos, a company that provides consulting services and solutions. We will explain in a short space some interesting facts about the French company and its last five acquisitions. We highlight the operation made with Syntel for a value of 3.4 billion dollars.

Atos, a global leader in digital transformation

Headquartered in Bezons, France, Atos is a leading global company in digital transformationwith approximately 120,000 employees in 73 countries and a workforce of approximately annual turnover of 13 billion euros approximately.

This company is a European leader in Big Data, Cybersecurity, High Performance Computing and Digital Workplace and provides Cloud, Infrastructure & Data Management, Business & Platform Solutions.

Thanks to its innovative technology, digital expertise and sector knowledge, it drives the digital transformation of its clients in various business sectors: defence, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, media, energy and utilities, public sector, retail, telecommunications and transport.

Here are the latest five company acquisitions by Atos:

1. Syntel

Syntel (Troy, Michigan) is a global provider of integrated IT and knowledge process outsourcing solutions, spanning the entire lifecycle of business and information systems and processes.

Syntel generated $924 million in revenues in 2017, of which 89% were realised in North America, with an operating margin of 25%. The Group employs 23,000 engineers in 30 countries, with over 18,000 employees in India.

On 22 July 2018 we met the merger agreement between Atos and Syntel. The terms of the agreement were as follows: Atos made a cash payment of 3.4 billion41 per share, representing a 14% premium to Syntel's average share price over the last 30 trading days.

2. Imakumo

ImaKumo is a provider of technology-enabled services for service management. It is headquartered in Paris and operates in the UK, France, Belgium or Switzerland.

His work with major consultants and their network of partners in English- and French-speaking countries enable ImaKumo to be the preferred choice of companies implementing ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) in European countries.

As a curiosity, in mid-2018 we learned about the change of name which became Engage ESM.

On 24 October 2017, the official sale of the company to Atos for an undisclosed amount.

3. Triple acquisition of health consultancies

Atos closed on 2 October 2017 a triple buyout of healthcare consulting companiesPursuit Healthcare Advisors, Conduent's Healthcare Provider Consulting business and Conduent's Breakaway Group business. For none of the three transactions are the sale amounts known.

These acquisitions allow Atos to play a leading role in the leadership in the growing health care IT market in the US. Besides the acquisitionsAtos Group generates more than €1 billion in annual revenues in the healthcare sector and approximately 400 healthcare consultants joined the Group following the transaction.
