We present the largest investment rounds in recent years involving companies dedicated to the design of telecommunications satellites. We also analyse the purchase of Callisto Space by the Spanish company TTI.

About TTI

TTI (Telecommunications and Information Technologies) is a Spanish SME specialised in the development of cutting-edge technological solutions in the Telecommunications, Aerospace, Defence, Security and Science industrial sectors.

Founded in 1996, it has an expanding team of more than 100 professionals, combining experienced technicians from ESA (European Space Agency) and various foreign research institutes, with an important group of engineers coming mainly from the University of Cantabria, as well as several highly qualified external consultants.

TTI works in the field of radio frequency and antenna technologies, developing advanced products (detailed design, prototypes of components and equipment, testing and validation), their subsequent mass production, and the integration of communications systems, providing turnkey solutions. Its main clients include many of the major national and international technology corporations.

About Callisto Space

Callisto Space is a French company dedicated to the design and development of cryogenic receivers and ultra-low noise amplifiers for ground station applications.

It is based in Villefranche de Lauragais, near Toulouse, France, where the company has laboratories equipped with radio frequency instruments and cryogenic test facilities. Callisto also has engineers working in Germany, Italy and the UK.

Callisto, which is part of the European Space Agency (ESA)provides consulting, engineering, equipment design and system integration services in the field of satellite communications, and is a key supplier of receivers for deep space stations.

Since 1993, Callisto has worked for a wide range of major organisations in the space sector and has established extensive partnerships with world-leading RF and cryogenic research institutions. Its client portfolio includes companies such as Eumetsat, Airbus Defence and Space, the Indian Space Research Agency (ISRO), Vertex and Zodiac, among others.

TTI buys Callisto Space

The Cantabrian company TTI (Tecnologías de Telecomunicaciones e Información) has acquired, through its technology investment group CelestiaThe French technology company Callisto, dedicated to the design and development of cryogenic receivers and ultra-low noise amplifiers for ground station applications.

With the addition of the French company, the TTI group would reach an annual turnover of €25M and a workforce of some 240 engineers.

According to José Alonso, president of TTI, with the deal "the Celestia Group achieves a world leading position in the supply of cryogenic and radio frequency components and systems for ground stations and radio telescopes".
