What is AI (Artificial Intelligence)?
Intelligence, as defined by the RAE, is the ability to understand and solve problems. When the adjective "artificial" is added to the concept of "intelligence", its meaning changes, not in essence, but in the way in which it is produced, since intelligence is a capacity hitherto only conceived for humans and other animals. In contrast, the increasingly popular AI (artificial intelligence) aims to develop these originally human problem-solving and understanding capabilities artificially, i.e. through the combination of computer algorithms. In this way, machines could carry out the simplest to the most complex tasks.
The goals of artificial intelligence include learning, reasoning, and perception.
