Basque company Erle Robotics, which develops drones and other robotic devices, has just been acquired by Swiss company Acutronic, which will allow it to 'play in a new global league and drive the next generation of robotic solutions for industry' according to its founders.

Erle Robotics was founded in 2014 with €150,000 raised by acquaintances and the Ekintxaile XXI venture capital fund, an instrument set up especially to finance the early stages of innovative companies, managed by the investment company of the Spri.
They then accessed the programme Mentoring of GazteEnpresa, of Mentoring of GazteEnpresa, of LaboralKutxa and were in the German start-up accelerator Tech Founders.
By founding Erle Robotic they were very clear from the start: they were creating a technology-based company and as a company they had to make money from minute one, and they did so by producing "tools for developers". As early as 2015, they launched a robot to reach hard-to-reach places, and that year they made half a million euros.
In May 2015 they carried out their first round in which they raised €200,000, by means of a capital increase which involved the entry of six private investors, two Basque and four British. In this way, they were already preparing to take the step into the international market.

A Swiss company with production plants in the USA and Switzerland, it is a benchmark in the development and manufacture of simulators for industrial use. Acutronic has three main lines of business: deployment of the H-ROS robotic platform; sale of hardware components for Erle Robotics branded robots and drones; and finally, engineering services in robotics for companies and government organisations.

The drone and technology startup Erle Robotics has been acquired by the Swiss multinational Acutronic.
The exit will enable Erle Robotics to internationalise its products and increase the sale of hardware for drones and robots, as well as their various components. In addition, the company founded in 2014 by Carlos Uraga, Victor and David Mayoral, will have more resources to develop new solutions aimed at increasing the involvement of robotics in industry. Erle will continue to operate in Vitoria and Bilbao, where its headquarters are located.
