MWC 2015 news and conclusions
The Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which was held from 2 to 5 March, closed its doors with new participation records: 93,000 people attended the MWCB, of which 52% held managerial positions. 2,000 companies participated in this congress, which is no longer a mobile congress, but an ICT, mobility and telecommunications trade fair. 8,000 professionals, including 250 international investors attended the event. 4FYNThis figure is 4 times higher than the previous year's attendance.

Technology trends presented at the MWCB for 2015.

One of the main protagonists at the congress was virtual reality, with 53 companies from all over the world focused on this sector presenting their products. HTC has unveiled its ReVive helmet, which features more than 70 sensors, to compete against Oculus Rift , Morpheus and Gear VR. In addition, we have also met Whiplash, a chair that complements augmented reality devices to improve the sensation of movement and play with gravity through G-forces.

The internet of things was another of the big names at the fair. Among the projects presented were Oral-B's intelligent toothbrush, which improves our cleaning habits, and the Xensr company's sensors installed in skis or on surfboards, which capture all our movements for later viewing on our mobile phones.

The mobile payments sector, with 133 companies, was also very well represented. PayPal announced the purchase of Paydianta startup that helps businesses offer the mobile payment option, and Google announces Android Pay. Like Apple's and Samsung's versions, Google's Google will use NFC, or Near Field Communications, technology to validate payments. The big difference is that it is not just an application, but a platform that will be offered to third parties, broadening its adoption possibilities.

This edition also featured renowned speakers such as Andrew Creighton, president of VICE Media, Weili Dai, president and co-founder of Marvell Technology Group, John Ploumitsakos, Director of Online Sales at Twitter, Martin Varsavsky, CEO of Fon, Mike Curtis, vice president of Engineering at Airbnb and Philippe Botteri, partner of Accel Partners.

The ideas presented range from a surfboard with an integrated battery-powered motor to accelerate learning by riding the waves, to a platform for scientists to share their successes and failures.
