8fit, AlientVault, Metrikea: tech startups receive funding in August.
An international study of Spanish startups abroad carried out by the consultancy firm Keyprocom and Ticketbis reveals that 29% of Spanish tech start-ups have an international turnover of more than 60%. Several of these companies are becoming strong in their sector and are receiving support from investors, such as 8Fit, AlientVault and have received funding in August.

 

8Fit closes €2.5M funding round

8FIT, the app that allows you to exercise from home has received a €2.5M round, led by Mark Evans, partner of Balderton Carpital, in which also participated Arthur Kosten of Booking.com, Carles Puyol, former FC Barcelona player, a group of business angels and Vitamika K, which last June had already made a €200,000 round in the company.

Since its launch 8fit has grown from 25% to 50% every month, currently reaching 850,000 users and ranking among the Top 50 health and wellness apps and among the top 1,000 overall iOS apps.

AlientVault raises $52M in funding

AlientVault, a Spanish cybersecurity company based in the US, has closed a $52M funding round, led by the investment company Institutional Venture Partners (IVP) in which the following have also participated  Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers and GGV Capital. In addition, as part of the transaction, Steve Harrick of Institutional Venture Partners will join AlienVault's board of directors. 

AlienVault will use the funds to expand its global marketing and sales programmes, and increase investments in innovation and products for its unified security management platform (Unified Security Management or USM) and open threat exchange (Open Threat Exchange, OTX.

AlientVault, which has already raised $116M, along with Spanish companies such as MScytl, Peertransfer, Chartboost and Redbooth, are an example of the strength that Spanish technology companies are gaining by setting up in the US.

Sinensis Seed Capital invests in Metrikea

 Metrikea, They use their own technology, based on sensors, which pick up the wave emissions emitted by mobile phones, and thus allow them to know how many people are on the premises, how long each person stays on the premises, which people return, which hotspots exist, etc. In this way, they allow software customers to optimise their own resources.

Metrikea has closed a round in which the former general director of IndraÁngel Lucio, and Sinensis Seed Capital, the investment fund of BboosterThe accelerator in which Metrikea has participated in the 7th edition of its acceleration programme.

"Metrikea has won last year's Pasion>ie awards, the Madrid-Digital Startup project, and was a finalist in the 2015 EmprendedorXXI Awards" says Diego Gutierrez of Abra-Invest.
