Tecnocratica Data Centre, buys the hosting company Vorneo
Tecnocrática Centro de Datos has bought from Vorneo the part of the business corresponding to hosting, servers and derivatives, except for the part of consultancy and other minor services. It has also hired part of the company's technical team.
Technocratic corporate finance analysis

Tecnocratica, founded in 2011, offers consultancy and material execution in IT projects, virtualisation, server management, storage management, data centres, creation and operation of networks. Tecnocrática has its own IP space as a member of RIPE LIR (es.tecnocratica) and is an IANA 1600 domain registrar accredited by ICANN and the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda.

The company has provided infrastructure services and remote hands in the data centre for Vorneo for the last few years. It is currently considered as the third company in the sector of national capital and are in the top 5 with the rest of the companies that have presence in the Spanish market.

In 2015, Tecnocratica absorbed two companies that belonged to its group: Estrategias Website SL and Neodigit. Its turnover that year grew by 360%, reaching almost €2M. The company achieved a profitability of 20% in 2015.

About Vorneo

Vorneo  was founded in 2006 to offer internet services, mainly hosting, cloud servers, monitoring, domain registration and ssl certificates, as well as specialised consultancy. From the beginning, Vorneo has specialised in services for startups and companies looking for systems specialisation and quality support services.

Tecnocratica has only bought the part of the business corresponding to hosting, servers and derivatives. It has also taken over part of the company's technical team.

Other operations in the "Hosting" sector

In Spain, there have already been several acquisitions in the hosting sector. In 2013 the German company United Internet, through 1&1, bought Arsys for a price of €140M with the aim of growing in the Spanish market. As of 2013, Arsys had the 40% of the market.

A year later, Clarenet bought Celengest to grow in cloud hosting. Celingest, founded in 1998 and headquartered in the Barcelona area, is a leading provider of managed cloud computing services based on Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.

Also in 2015, a hosting company, Gigas, was floated on the MAB. In order to list on the MAB, the company carried out a €4.1M capital increase. Gigas Hosting is ranked 126th in the FT ranking of European companies with the highest percentage of organic revenue growth between 2012 and 2015.
