European Celtic-Plus call for innovative projects to be launched soon
Celtic Plus is an industry-led Eureka cluster promoting European R&D projects in the areas of telecommunications, media, Future Internet and ICT applications and services. This year's winter call will be open from 26 February to 25 May. The conditions for this call are expected to be improved, companies will be able to get up to 50% of grant funding, without the need for a loan part.

Beneficiaries:

CELTIS-PLUS is open to any type of company covering the research areas, either small companies or universities and research organisations, which want to carry out a project in the areas proposed in the call. Public companies are not eligible for support.

Project modality:

 Project consortia must have at least two different partners from two different EUREKA countries. At most one project may have 50 partners.

Projects should generally have a budget of between €1M and €70M and the typical project duration is 24-36 months.

Financing:

The maximum subsidy for Spanish countries has been raised to 50% for SMEs and 40% for large industries, and the loan that was previously mandatory is now no longer mandatory.

Successful projects with Spanish participation:

The E3 project aims to develop a platform that allows anyone, both patients and professionals, to make use of high-quality, low-cost videoconferencing solutions by reusing existing infrastructure in homes (STBs, HDTVs, Smartphones and Tablets) and medical centres to enable access to medical services anywhere, whether in urban or rural areas.

The project consists of a consortium involving 6 countries: Spain (coordinator), Poland, Finland, France, Turkey and Sweden (21 entities in total).

The TILAS project aims to design technological solutions that enable the deployment of Internet of Things (IoT) devices on a large scale in smart city environments.

TST has coordinated a consortium of 9 organisations from 4 different countries: Spain (TST, TTI and Bankoi), France (Gemalto, UPEC, CEA-LETI, Webdyn), Turkey (Turk Telekom Argela) and South Korea (Pangaea).
