The new Feder Innterconecta call to promote interregional R&D cooperation through the development of innovative technologies, with economic and commercial projection at international level between the following communities is expected to open soon: Andalusia, Asturias, Galicia, Canary Islands, Castilla La Mancha, Extremadura and Murcia. Beneficiaries of the Feder Innterconecta 2015 call for proposals
A total of 131 projects were approved in the 2015 call for proposals, representing 33 % of approved projects and funding of approximately €122 million from the CDTI. The autonomous communities in which most projects were approved were Andalusia and Galicia.
From the analysis of the applications submitted, it is worth highlighting the great interest shown by the Public Research Organisations (OPIS), which participate in almost 911TTP1T of the proposals submitted and have a subcontracted budget of 88 million euros (11.281TTP1T of the total budget requested).
Feder Innterconecta in Galicia
In the 2015 call, 67 projects were approved in Galicia, involving 144 Galician companies, of which 73% were SMEs.
These projects will have an investment of €47M and mobilise approximately €92M. Of the total number of projects approved, 44 were led by this community.
In the case of Galicia, the average grant per participant is €700,000 (51% of the budget).
The sector that leads the list of those approved in the agricultural sector, with 29% of the total budget approved for this community, followed by the ICT sector with 19%, with projects mainly in software engineering and other technologies in e-health and logistics.
Among the Innterconecta projects in Galicia, there are two led by Grupo Antolin, the Perfil+, focused on the development of new ultra-elastic steel components for the automobile, and the Innospace, which allows progress in the design of modular architectures for the interior of light commercial vehicles and which, according to the director of the Group's Seats Business Unit, Miguel Marañón, will have its practical application in the future K9 project of PSA Peugeot-Citroën in Balaídos.
Feder Innterconecta in Andalusia
Andalusia is the region with the highest number of approved projects.
Among the beneficiaries is Andaltec, the Plastics Technology Centre, which participates in four Feder Interconecta projects.
One of the projects focuses on the manufacture of packaging for the food sector from composites with improved properties through high-efficiency thermoforming. Another initiative is aimed at the application of a controlled atmosphere to the maturation and bulk preservation of meat products, while the third of the awarded projects focuses on the development of eco-innovative technologies for the improvement and optimisation of production and post-harvest systems in intensive horticultural crops. In addition, the fourth initiative aims to implement a flexible system for the manufacture and installation of continuous pipes.
