Technology trends presented at the MWCB for 2015.
One of the main protagonists at the congress was virtual reality, with 53 companies from all over the world focused on this sector presenting their products. HTC has unveiled its ReVive helmet, which features more than 70 sensors, to compete against Oculus Rift , Morpheus and Gear VR. In addition, we have also met Whiplash, a chair that complements augmented reality devices to improve the sensation of movement and play with gravity through G-forces.
The internet of things was another of the big names at the fair. Among the projects presented were Oral-B's intelligent toothbrush, which improves our cleaning habits, and the Xensr company's sensors installed in skis or on surfboards, which capture all our movements for later viewing on our mobile phones.
The mobile payments sector, with 133 companies, was also very well represented. PayPal announced the purchase of Paydianta startup that helps businesses offer the mobile payment option, and Google announces Android Pay. Like Apple's and Samsung's versions, Google's Google will use NFC, or Near Field Communications, technology to validate payments. The big difference is that it is not just an application, but a platform that will be offered to third parties, broadening its adoption possibilities.
