El número de M&A transactions and acquisitions en México está creciendo considerablemente, este último tercer trimestre ha aumentado un 63.8% con respecto el trimestre anterior y un 45.3% en relación al mismo trimestre de 2013.
However, the amount of transactions has not followed this trend and has fallen slightly from USD 6.87bn in the third quarter of 2013 to USD 6.7bn in the same period this year.
Most active sectors
By sector in 2014, technology and internet are the most active sectors.
"Transnational operations have taken place in this sector, such as the purchase of Zyncro's 40% by the Mexican company Desarrolladora Rio Paraná for €30m. Zyncro is a leading Spanish startup in social media for the enterprise" says Diego Gutierrez from Abra-Invest.
However, there have also been large local operations, such as the purchase of the Salinas Group of 50% of the share capital of Iusacell, a Mexican teleoperator, by $717M
Spain and the US lead in cross-border transactions
Spain and the US lead the ranking of countries most interested in Mexican companies, having made 5 and 13 purchases respectively.
"One of these operations has been the purchase of the Mexican consultancy Cleven for the Izertis GroupThe Asturian-based company is one of the leading technology consultancies in northern Spain," says Diego.
Por su parte, las compañías mexicanas han llevado a cabo tres acquisitions en España y dos en Estados Unidos.
