Spanish tools for making interactive content receive funding
Brands know that capturing the attention of their customers is not as easy as it used to be and they have to resort to innovative techniques to get their potential customers to react. This type of innovation, such as interactive marketing, seemed to be well developed in countries such as the USA, but in Spain we were lagging behind. However, it seems that we are already moving and this week we have learned that 2 young Spanish startups Playfilm and Genial.ly, which have just started their activity this year, have received rounds this week.

Playfilm , the interactive video

PlayFilm has received a €300,000 financing round in which Angels and the BigBan Angels association, through its co-investment vehicle BSF15, have participated.

Playfilm is an editing software that optimises the production and publication of interactive videos. This software is aimed at advertising and audiovisual production professionals.

"Playfilm participated in the Lanzadera acceleration programme in 2014 and is having great success. The company's first work, starring the artist Abraham Mateo, was seen by more than a million people in just two weeks and became a worldwide trending topic in just a few hours" says Diego Gutierrez of Abra-Invest.

For the CEO of PlayFilm, Raquel Valero, "interactive content triples the results of passive content. We are possibly facing the advertising format of reference on the internet in the coming times".

The investment received will be used to promote the growth of the company in order to position itself as the first technology in Spain to create interactive video, and the most advanced in the world in this sector.

"In addition to Playfilm, Spain has companies such as The Mad Video, whose track record shows us that this is a sector with a lot of potential. The Mad video is a spin off of the Spanish start up Madpixel, which was founded in the USA and makes interactive videos," says Diego Gutierrez of Abra-Invest.

Genial.ly receives €300,000

Genial.ly has developed a tool for the creation of interactive content without the need for programming., This allows users to generate digital resources that are more attractive to the public.

Several business angels participated in the round, such as Axel Serena from Alva House Capital, Pablo Martin from Laren Capital, David Carrero, Florencio Barranco from SGTA. In addition, the following also participated Civet Investments.

After two years of development, Genial.ly opened to the market in May 2015 and has been accelerated in the first promotion of Founder's Institute Andalucia. Since its launch it has been able to double its users monthly, currently having more than 20,000 users in 75 different countries.
