Fersa, Himoinsa and Dialecto Industrial: M&A in the energy sector
In the last two months we have seen Spanish companies in the energy sector being bought by foreign companies. SunEdison has bought Fersa and will buy Cielo Alto, Solarpack's project once the project is completed. In addition, the Japanese manufacturer Yanmar has bought Himoinsa and Sonepar Iberica has bought Dialecto Industrial.

 

 

Fersa sells its Indias subsidiaries to SunEdison

Fersa a company dedicated to the generation of clean, renewable electric power using renewable energy sources, has sold its Indian subsidiaries to the US company SunEdison for €29.7m. The deal has cost Fersa €42M, aims to focus solely on Europe, especially Spain, France and Poland, and to sort out its debt in order to be able to pay out dividends to shareholders.
"Moreover, the Biscayan company Solarpack will also sell 100% of shares in its Alto Cielo project in Uruguay to SunEdison. Solarpack builds solar photovoltaic generation parks . The sale of the solar park by Solarpack will be effective once the project starts its operation stage, expected in December 2015," says Diego Gutierrez of Solarpack. ABRA-INVEST.

Japanese manufacturer Yanmar buys 70% from Himoinsa's share capital

Himoinsathe Spanish generator set manufacturer, has signed a business agreement with the Japanese engine manufacturer YanmarThe latter becomes the main shareholder of the company, controlling 70% of Himoinsa's shares.
The decision to join forces with Yanmar was taken with the aim of continuing to grow. Himoinsa already had a production presence in China, India, France, the United States, Argentina and Brazil and distribution in 130 countries.

Sonepar Iberica buys Dialecto Industrial

French Sonepar acquires Dielectro Industrial a global multi-specialist supplier of installation and energy efficiency equipment. The purchase has been made through its Spanish subsidiary Sonepar Iberica. The purchase involves the transfer of the entire workforce, some 280 employees, almost all of them in Galicia, where it is a leader in its business.
