Using Big Data for semantic analysis gets funding.
In the last two months two Spanish Big Data companies that use natural language processing for semantic analysis: Bitext and Sentisis, have received the backing of investors. Moreover, in recent years the number of companies in the sector has grown considerably.

Bitext receives funding from Inveready

Inveready has led a $900.000 round in Bitext. Bitext is a semantic analysis technology for large volumes of data, very useful for companies to analyse and understand the large amount of text generated by their customers, employees or competitors, on social networks, the web or any other electronic media.

Its technology applies text analytics for the extraction of entities or concepts, text categorisation and, above all, the most demanded by brands today, sentiment analysis.

"This is the first round closed by Bitext, founded in 2008 in Madrid. In addition to Inveready, several business angels have participated in this round that aims to accelerate its international development, especially in the United States where it has most of the business" says Diego Gutierrez of Abra- Invest.

Sentisis receives a $$1.3M round

Sentisisis a data analysis platform, with a registered "NLP" language system that allows segmenting the conversation in social networks by topic, type of person or opinion thanks to a combination of a linguistic analysis system by industries and countries and Machine Learning,

The round was led by AXON Partners Group and FIDES, the investment arm of the José Manuel Entrecanales Foundation. In addition, other investment funds that have already participated in previous rounds have also taken part such as Startcaps Ventures or Meet and Money.

The round aims to enhance the technological development and internationalisation of its business lines around the Hispanic world.

"In 2014, Sentisis already got the support of 500 Mexican startups to boost its expansion project in Latin America," says Diego Gutierrez.
