Requirements for beneficiaries
At least one Argentinean and one Spanish company must participate. The proposal must be balanced between the parties and the results must be of benefit to both.
Projects must have innovative technology at pilot and/or prototype scale and produce knowledge applicable to a technological solution, the development of which reaches laboratory scale or equivalent.
On the Argentinean side, the minimum requirement is the mandatory participation of an SME company1 , while universities and technology centres can be partner entities.
From the Spanish side, at least one company must participate. Optionally, research organisations and technology centres subcontracted by the company(ies) may participate.
Phases of the call
The call will be carried out in two phases. In Phase I, business R&D&I project profiles were presented together with a Gantt chart, valued in US dollars, with the activities to be carried out by the project partners and a collaboration and exploitation of results agreement signed by all participating partners. This documentation was evaluated by experts from both countries and those projects that were eligible for both organisations were enabled to move on to the next phase.
In Phase 2, proposals positively evaluated in Phase I will be able to submit the application for funding for their participation in the project to the respective national funding bodies.
Type of aid
In the case of Argentina: Financial support will be provided by FONTAR and FONSOFT.
Fontar
Subsidy of up to $ 2,200,000 Argentinean pesos and a maximum percentage of 70% of the total cost of the project (the maximum percentage rises to 80 % for legal entities that have not been awarded to date with non-refundable contributions in the framework of instruments for the promotion and encouragement of innovation of FONTAR and FONSOFT).
Fonsoft
Subsidy of up to $ 2,500,000 Argentinean pesos and a maximum percentage of 70% of the total cost of the project.
In the case of Spain
CDTI
The aid modality for the project will be a Partially Reimbursable Grant, with a financial coverage of up to 75% of the total approved budget, and exceptionally up to 85%, with a reimbursable tranche and a non-reimbursable tranche of up to 30 % of this financial coverage.
Deadlines for submission
For Phase I: Between the date of publication and 14 October 2015 at 12:00 Argentina time / 17:00 Spain time.
For Phase II: CDTI and MINCYT will carry out an evaluation of the proposals submitted to Phase I and will decide which of the projects will be invited to apply for funding in PHASE II. These projects will receive Iberoeka certification.
