Nets labs is a major player in the sector.
Nets Labs, which in 2010, when it was founded, offered responsible and efficient control of the energy consumption of household cooling and heating systems through its sensors, has been growing, thanks in part to the 3 financing rounds that it has received and that have allowed it to expand and buy several companies in the energy efficiency technologies sector, expanding its services, such as My Energy and Dropcam.
MyEnergy, which was acquired by Nets Labs in May 2013, is an online service that allows you to monitor your energy expenditure and usage. The company had already raised several rounds of funding before, raising a total of $4M.
The procurement The acquisition of Dropcam took place this past June when Nets Labs was already owned by Google. Dropcam, which allows users to monitor their homes and offices through cameras and software, was bought for $555M.
In January 2014, Google bought Nets Labs, for $$3.2 billion. It was Google's second major acquisition, allowing it to enter the world of connected homes.
"The energy efficiency technologies sector is managing to attract corporations that were not operating in the sector before, such as Google," says Diego Guiterrez, of the Abra Invest.
