Squared Capital

Squared Capital is an independent global infrastructure investment manager focused on energy, utilities, telecommunications and transportation in North America, Europe and selected high-growth economies. Squared Capital has offices in Miami, New York, Houston, London, New Delhi, Hong Kong and Singapore. On 9 November 2016 Squared Capital acquired T-Solar Group for €113 million.  

T-Solar

Grupo T-Solar is a leading company in renewable energy production and asset management. It has a track record of developing and operating 53 plants installed in Spain, Italy, Peru, Japan, USA and India. The company focuses on the European market with 92 percent of its assets in Spain and Italy. Including recent divestments in Japan and the United States, the T-Solar Group has managed more than 1.9 billion euros in renewable assets. 

On 15 December, Squared Capital has sold T-Solar to Cubico for 1.5 billion. Cubico Sustainable Investments is a leading investor and long-term owner and operator of global renewable energy projects, the fastest source of energy, in the Americas, Europe and Oceania. Established in 2015, the company is jointly owned by Ontario Teachers, Pension Plan and PSP Investments. 

This important acquisition by Cubico was made with the aim of doubling its portfolio in Spain and become one of the largest independent owners of renewable energy projects on the Iberian Peninsula, with more than 500 MW in operation.
