New Venture Capital Funds: N+1 and Capitana Ventures
In 2016, Capitana Ventures stood out in the venture capital and private equity sector by raising a total of €1,481 million in new funds. This year, 2016, it is observed that the favourable conditions for fundraising continue to be met. The markets remain liquid, international investors are showing interest in VC&PE firms, and the sector enjoys the backing of public funds-of-funds such as Innvierte and Fond-ICO Global. Furthermore, Capitana Ventures has recently achieved significant fundraising, with N+1 raising €400 million for its new fund and Capitana Ventures Partners in the process of raising new funds for Capitana Tech Fund.

N+1 completes the closure of  their new private equity fund: N+1 Private Equity Fund III

N+1 has completed an initial close of €400M on its new fund private equity, N+1 Private Equity Fund III, the largest Spanish private equity fund dedicated to technological and industrial companies.

The fund, which has a five-year investment period and a further five-year divestment period, will take majority stakes in unlisted Spanish companies, primarily in the technology and industrial sectors, with an ambition for international expansion.

Among the fund's investors is the CDTI, which through the Innvierte programme, has contributed €100m. In addition to the CDTI, there are also a number of family offices and specialist European institutional investors. It is worth noting that, in a second and final closing (for a maximum of an additional 50 million), funds could be brought in from Fond-ICO, which last November approved an investment of up to 50 million in the N+1 PEF III.

In a second and final closing for a maximum of an additional 50 million euros, funds could be incorporated from venture capital fund, which last November approved an investment of up to 50 million euros in this fund.

The fund's investments will range between €35M and €75M and will support the growth and internationalisation processes of SMEs and mid-cap companies (mid-cap stocks) Spanish companies with technological and industrial capabilities and high potential. Although there is no sectoral limitation, the fund may undertake investments in sectors such as health, agrifood, electronic and mechanical equipment, information and communications, automotive, aerospace and transport materials, and energy.

Capitana Ventures Partnerscreate Capitana Tech Fund

Capitana Tech Fund has been set up to invest in early-stage companies with high growth potential and international outlook. Its investment philosophy is more entrepreneurial than financial and its main objective is to collaborate with entrepreneurs to build companies that are successful in the long term.

Capitana Venture Partners is looking for investors to provide them with access to the best entrepreneurs and the confidence of being able to work with them to build companies that are successful in the long term, thus limiting the risks associated with this type of investment. Likewise, it is looking for entrepreneurs committed to ambitious projects that have been commercially tested. The first investment made has been Parclick and is already working on 3 transactions to carry out in the coming months.
