Venture capital: Solution for industry. Carbures, Litalsa and composite plastics
In May, we witnessed that the private equity is once again taking an interest in the industry to help it grow and become strong abroad. Carbures has received funding from Black toro, Realza has acquired a stake in Litalsa and Plásticos Compuestos has received funding from La Caixa and the ICF.

Carbures receives loans from its investors BLACK Toro and Anangu Grup

Carburesthe Cadiz-based manufacturer of carbon fibre parts has received two loans from its main investors: the Catalan industrial fund Anangu Grup and Black Toro Capital, por €4M y €2M respectivamente. Ambos vencen en un plazo de tres años y tienen un interés del 6% anual.

"These new investments are in addition to the €8M already invested by Black Toro Capital in January and the €13M signed with Anangu in December," says Diego Gutierrez of Black Toro Capital. Abra-Invest.

Carbures has also managed to refinance the debt it had with BBVA and Bankia, which has stabilised the group's financial situation with the banks and has been a key step forward for the group's operation.

Realza capital acquires a majority stake in Litalsa

Litalsa, Spain's leading independent provider of lithography and varnishing services to manufacturers of metal packaging and closures has received funding from Realza with the aim of consolidating the company's leadership in Spain as well as fostering international growth by expanding into other countries alongside existing customers.

The divestment of  AC Development is the first divestment of its AC Capital Premier II Fund and has resulted in a multiple on invested capital of 2.3 times.

La Caixa and the ICF invest in composite plastics

La Caixa and ICF have invested €5M in composite plastics, a Catalan company specialising in the production of additives, compounds and colour concentrates for the plastics sector.

The transaction is a co-investment to finance the company's growth and internationalisation plan, which aims to increase turnover by more than 50 % in the next three years.

La Caixa has made the investment in Plásticos Compuestos through the Caixa Innvierte Industria fund, managed by Caixa Capital Risc, the venture capital fund managed by Critera CaixaHolding.

For its part, the ICF has taken a stake in Plásticos Compuestos through Capital Expansió, a fund that invests in Catalan companies with high growth potential. The percentage of shares that La Caixa and ICF will control has not been disclosed, but it is a minority stake, albeit a significant one.
