More and larger transactions than last year
Among the big deals this year were the purchase of Jazztel by Orange for €3.4 billion, the interest from AstraZeneca in the respiratory business of Almirall 1,562 million, the purchase of Vodafone by Ono for €7.2 billion or the acquisition of Caixa Cataluya Bank.
"Another novelty this year is the origin of the money, traditionally Spain has been a country where national companies buy national companies, but this year the volume of purchases by foreign investors has exceeded that invested by national buyers, which shows us the confidence that foreign countries are putting in our country".
Most active sectors in October
The technology and Internet sectors were once again the most active sectors in October, with 20 and 15 transactions respectively.
Of particular note is the purchase of Trovit the Barcelona real estate classifieds meta-search engine, by the Japanese company Next Co 80 million.
The real estate sector has also been quite active in October and has been the protagonist of 10 transactions.
