Comunitae closes a new round of financing amounting to 1 million euros

- Comunitae.com, the community of private investors who lend money to people as an instrument to achieve the best return for their capital, has closed in December 2011 a financing round of 1 million euros, which brings the total raised by the company in its first two rounds to 4 million euros.

Following the completion of this second round, the investment funds Cabiedes & Partners, Good Investment, S.A. and, in particular, François Derbaix, founder of Toprural.com, among others, have joined the shareholding. The founding partners maintain the majority of the capital.

Comunitae has also signed a participative loan with the National Innovation Company, ENISA.

The incorporation of the new partners is a real boost to the company's business model and management. The founder and general manager, Arturo Cervera, expresses his great satisfaction with the incorporation of the new shareholders, as "their professional solvency and experience will decisively promote the achievement of Comunitae's objectives".

Cervera highlights "the knowledge they will bring to the company, as together they are experts in technology, online business development and the financial market". He concludes by explaining that "their funding and backing will propel Comunitae into its next phase of growth, increasing the pace of intermediation and the credibility of the brand. Our Board is greatly strengthened and we look forward to working with our new partners.

Comunitae, founded in March 2008, was a pioneer in developing the p2p lending model in Spain, a new investment model of which it is still the only exponent in our country. To date, it has more than 1,000 users who lend money, has received more than 12,000 requests for financing, has brokered 870,000 euros, materialised in 132 loan operations at 2 and 4 years and the average profitability obtained by its users far exceeds that of other alternatives such as equities or bank deposits.

Comunitae facilitates direct financing between individuals without the intermediation of any financial entity.
