According to webcapitalriesgo.com, the cumulative portfolio of the organised BAs amounted to €22.4 billion spread over 139 companies, implying an average investment of €161,000 per company.
The volume of investment made by BAs operating organised and identifiable vehicles amounted to €3 billion in the first half of 2012, up by 101Tbp1T compared to the same period of the previous year.
A total of 47 transactions were recorded, of which 27 were new and 20 as extensions in old investees. A year earlier, there were 22 deals, of which 19 were new. New investments were made by Cabiedes&Partners, DAD, kibo Ventures, Mola and Realiza BA.
Among the deals closed, Contygo, DUCKSBOARD, habitissimo and Desidea stand out.
Most of the available data is on BA networks specialising in internet transactions, so that 89% of the transactions fall within the IT sector. There were also some transactions in the biotechnology, consumer products and other services sectors.
