and biotechnology industries, which has just sold part of its shares in a 15M$ round.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">New investors include, among others, Atlantic Bridge or the investment vehicle of the multinational Honey Well.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For many years, the pharmaceutical industry has been very used to working on high margins, but, being regulated, it has never had much incentive to optimise.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However, the situation is changing, and this is reflected in the movements in the sector's corporate finances.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"BIGFINITY\"><\/span>BIGFINITY<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bigfinite.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bigfinity<\/a> is an American Start Up based in San Francisco, but founded by Catalan entrepreneurs in 2014.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>A cloud-based SaaS platform development company for the pharmaceutical and biotech industries that transforms manufacturing operations through the use of artificial intelligence and IoT technologies.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-55115 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/techma.bakertilly.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/BIGFINITY.png\" alt=\"BIGFINITY\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/techma.bakertilly.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/BIGFINITY.png 200w, https:\/\/techma.bakertilly.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/BIGFINITY-150x150.png 150w, captures all the data generated in the production of medicines through sensors and uploads it to the cloud.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Once there, its algorithms recommend the best ways to increase productivity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The company is currently split into two companies:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><em>San Francisco<\/em>The company has ten employees, divided between the business development and marketing departments.<\/li>\n<li><em>Barcelona<\/em>The company has a staff of fifty between the technology development and quality analysis departments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"SEGUNDA_RONDA\"><\/span>SECOND ROUND<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Just this November, Bigfinity sold part of its shares in a financing round valued at <strong>15M$<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the forefront of the operation was the private equity fund <a href=\"https:\/\/abven.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Atlantic Bridge<\/a> and the multinational's investment vehicle <a href=\"https:\/\/www.honeywell.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Honey Well<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Also present was the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.icf.cat\/ca\/inici\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Institut Catal\u00e1 de Finances<\/a> (ICF) through its latest investment vehicle <em>ICF enture Tech II<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In doing so, it will strengthen its sales team in the US and Europe, as well as its user experience through the creation of departments.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Above all, however, it will boost the commercialisation of its product and strengthen its position in the market.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In addition, the system will also be refined to meet the needs of each customer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But this is not the first time that the firm has made the <a href=\"https:\/\/techma.bakertilly.es\/en\/sale-of-companies\/\">sale<\/a> part of their shares.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Already in 2007, it received \u20ac7.6M in a round led by the fund <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crosslinkcapital.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Crosslink Capital<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"INVERSION_DEL_ICF\"><\/span>INVESTMENT OF THE ICF<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bigfinity is also the second operation of the ICF enture Tech II fund.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It made its debut in September with the acquisition of a stake in the Catalan biotech firm <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vytrus.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vytrus Biotech<\/a> for \u20ac500,000.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With a volume of \u20ac20m, its participation is a sign of Bigfinity's commitment to the Catalan economy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">OTHER SIMILAR OPERATIONS IN THE SECTOR<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"SOM_BIOTECH\"><\/span>SOM BIOTECH<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Born in 2009, <a href=\"https:\/\/sombiotech.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Som Biotech<\/a> uses artificial intelligence to offer therapeutic solutions to patients.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It wants to act as a catalyst in rare disease research and in the development of new, effective and safe medicines for rare diseases.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Recently, it has managed to capture <strong>7M\u20ac<\/strong> for growth in its second round of Series A funding.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"GLYCARDIAL_DIAGNOSTICS\"><\/span>GLYCARDIAL DIAGNOSTICS<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Founded in 2017, this is a company <em>Spin Off<\/em> of the Catalan Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences (ICCC) and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Focused on the development of a new In Vitro diagnostic device for myocardial ischaemia, Glycardial diagnostics has been able to raise <strong>1.9M\u20ac<\/strong> in
