ApetEat is a start up selected to participate in Lanzadera, the accelerator of Mercadona's Juan Roig's dueling, has just sell<\/a> part of its equity in a \u20ac1M financing round. The company has been backed by new investors such as Spanish investment funds Big Sur Ventures and All Iron Ventures.<\/p>\n

The so-called food delivery\/food-tech<\/em> is a growing segment. However, its potential in B2B has not yet been fully exploited. Even so, corporate finance is reporting some movement in the B2B market.<\/p>\n

<\/span>WHO IS APETEAT<\/span><\/h2>\n

Companies are increasingly demanding healthy food for their employees, and while meal delivery platforms have become commonplace, no major player has yet to disrupt the daily meal segment.<\/p>\n

This changed with the arrival ApetEat<\/a>a firm specialising in office catering services<\/strong> which wants to lead the lunch service for companies that want to take care of their employees through food.<\/p>\n

To this end, it has a online service<\/strong>known as Lunch As A Benefit<\/em>The company has built a solid model that combines high quality food with the flexibility of delivery platforms.<\/p>\n

It was founded in 2015 but did not start operating until September 2016. In these three years it has served more than 250,000 lunches in more than 2,000 companies.<\/p>\n

It helps them to take care of their employees through food, thereby improving their reputation and the performance of their workers.<\/p>\n

It also contributes to creating a Mediterranean product that allows them to eat healthy, balanced and varied food in the office, as a nutritionist is in charge of preparing the recipes.<\/p>\n

Of course, among the different dishes you can also find food for allergy sufferers, vegetarians and vegans.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that last year it closed the year with a growth of more than 250% and a turnover of almost \u20ac1M.<\/p>\n

<\/span>NEW INVESTORS FOR GROWTH<\/span><\/h2>\n

In order to reinforce its expansion and growth strategy, Apeteat has recently taken on 1M\u20ac<\/strong> in a financing round in which it has sold part of its equity stakes to new investors, including Spanish investment funds Big Sur Ventures<\/a> and All Iron Ventures<\/a>.<\/p>\n

These two new partners have taken joint control between 10% and 15% of the company.<\/p>\n

In this way, it intends to establish itself in the Spanish market and strengthen its sales and technology teams.<\/p>\n

At the moment, the company has a team of 25 people. It only operates in Madrid, but plans to start operating in Barcelona and Valencia in a few months, and then move on to other European countries.<\/p>\n
