Informatica is a California-based enterprise software maker, which last year was bought by private equity firm Permira and Canada's largest pension fund. The price of the acquisition was $5.300M.<\/span><\/p>\n

Solutions include data for the cloud, big data, real-time data and streaming.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the reasons that prompted the board of Inform\u00e1tica to sell was the need for growth via mergers and acquisitions<\/a>The aim is to strengthen its position in high-growth markets, such as data governance.<\/span><\/p>\n

IT had previously carried out 9 mergers and acquisitions<\/a> and has invested in 3 companies. The last investment was made in Interset in 2015. This company works in the field of data analytics for the cybersecurity sector.<\/span><\/p>\n

Axon, Diaku's core product, is pioneering collaborative governance software that enables a distributed user base to govern core business objects.<\/span><\/p>\n

Axon, will be integrated into Informatica's master data management, data quality and big data offerings.<\/span><\/p>\n

Data Governance is the management of the availability, integrity, usability and security of data used in an enterprise.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Marketsandmarkets, the Data Governance market will grow by an average of 21% per annum until 2021, from $863.2M in 2016 to 2,235M by the end of the period.<\/span><\/p>\n

The market research firm also says that managed services will grow the most and are considered \"crucial\" because they are directly related to the consumer experience and because they help organisations to sustain their market positions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Other data governance companies have also been acquired in the last year. Just this February, Infogix bought Data3sixty, the leading provider of cloud data governance solutions.<\/span><\/p>\n
