<\/span>Airbnb, the platform for booking accommodation from local hosts in more than 191 countries, has once again made a purchase and this time it is a Spanish company, Trip4real. This startup connects travellers with local people for activities.<\/span><\/span><\/h5>\n

<\/span>\n About Trip4 real<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h5>\n

Founded in 2012 in Barcelona, this company is essentially a marketplace where travellers contact local people to book activities. The traveller pays a fee to the local guide and Trip4Real takes an average of 18% commission.<\/span><\/p>\n

This service of activities and routes guided by local people is present in fifty Spanish cities, as well as in London, Lisbon, Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, Dublin, Edinburgh, several Italian cities, Prague, Athens and Budapest.<\/span><\/p>\n

Trip4real has received 4 rounds of investment since it was founded, raising a total of $3.14M. The last round it received was in July 2015, with investors including Caixa Capital Risk and Kibo Ventures.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>About Airbnb<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h5>\n

It is the platform for booking accommodation with hosts. Airbnb seeks to increase the amount of money that each user spends on the website when booking accommodation. And the project to achieve this involves helping its millions of users to book, in addition to accommodation, also restaurants, guided tours, activities...<\/span>
\n The company, which has raised more than $2B since it was founded in 2008, has bought a total of 11 companies in different parts of the world and now it looks like it is Spain's turn.<\/span><\/p>\n

The companies bought in the last year have been Vamo, Lapka, <\/span>ChangeCoin and Trip4real.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>Other operations in the holiday rental sector<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h5>\n

In April this year, the French Accor<\/a><\/span> bought Onefinestay, a London-based startup dedicated to luxury home rentals in Europe and the United States. Onefinestay had received $80M in an investment round in 2015.<\/span>
\n Also in April, TripAdvisor<\/span> consolidated its position in the vacation rental market, following the purchase of the English portal HouseTrip<\/a>specialising in the rental of holiday flats and holiday homes, mainly in Europe.<\/span>
\n In 2015, the Spanish company BemAtes announced the purchase of the holiday rental platform Alterkeys.<\/span><\/p>\n
