So far in 2015 there have been more than 126 financing rounds in the energy sector. Within this sector, renewable energies have had a lot of weight for some years now, but in the last two years we have seen that investment in energy efficiency is gaining ground. From 2013 to 2014, investments in energy efficiency grew by 42%.<\/span><\/address>\n

Major rounds in the energy sector <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Carlyle <\/a><\/span>invested $500M in July 2015 in Magma energy, an Indian oil and gas extraction company in India and South Asia. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Equity fund management firm The Carlyle Group raised $$2.5 billion in March for its first international energy fund, Carlyle International Energy Partners, and in June announced the merger of Carlyle and CVC to launch a Neptune Oil & Gas fund to undertake energy sector deals of up to $5 billion,\" says Diego Gutierrez of Abra-Invest<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/a><\/span>SunRun<\/a>an American company founded in 2007 as a provider of solar electricity for residential use. The company has raised $680M in 10 rounds, the latest being a $195M round in January 2015.<\/span><\/p>\n

Leaf Solar Partner<\/a>a company that designs, develops and installs solar panels and systems has received a $75M round of funding from Tamra-Tacoma Capital Partners to grow in the US, the company currently operates in California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey and New York.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mytrah Energy<\/span> The company, part of the Indian conglomerate Mytrah, is one of the leading independent renewable energy producers. The company received a $60M round of financing in April, in which they invested Aion Direct Singapore<\/span><\/span><\/a> and Merrill Lynch International Ltd.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\"Already before, in 2014 it received a $70M round and currently the company has revealed that it is managing an investment round of about $95 million to implement power projects for 100 MW\" comments Diego Gutierrez.<\/span><\/p>\n
