According to TTR, the Mexican transactional market has started 2015 with good figures, being the Latin American country with the highest number of transactions of more than $500M closed in January.<\/span><\/address>\n

\u00a0\"LLL\"<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Fewer operations, more money<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The investment volume in January was $8850.9 M, which is 725% more than the same period last year. This figure is due to the fact that large deals were closed, as the number of transactions this month 22, was lower than the number of deals closed in January 2014.<\/span><\/p>\n

Major operations take centre stage<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Transactions of more than $500M have been the main protagonists of the beginning of 2015. 6 transactions have been carried out for a total amount of $9.53B, which is more than the 3 transactions carried out in the same period of the previous year, $3.78B.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Soriana, which had already acquired 198 Gigante shops for 1350MTP$, now has 22% of the Mexican retail market, taking second place to Walmart, Mexico's largest retail chain,\" says Diego de ABRA INVEST.<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Another major buyer is the telecommunications company AT&T, which will has purchased from the Mexican subsidiary<\/span> de NII Holdings<\/span><\/span>, Nextel<\/span>for $1,875 M.<\/span><\/p>\n

After the acquisition of Iusacell for $2.5 billion and Nextel, US-based AT&T becomes the second largest telco in terms of revenues in the Mexican market, ahead of Telef\u00f3nica-Movistar.<\/span><\/p>\n

The third major sale and purchase during January was also in the telecommunications sector,\u00a0 Grupo Televisa has agreed to purchase Cablevisi\u00f3n Red and its commercial brand Telecable for $687 M<\/span><\/a>The new system is still awaiting approval from the regulatory authorities.<\/span><\/p>\n
