With our intelligence tool Logic-fin we have tracked investments in cloud companies in Europe. From 2009 to 2013 we have identified more than 700 investments with an annual growth of 30% and a total amount invested of more than 3,300M$.<\/span><\/address>\n

In this report we discuss the business models that are expected to emerge in the coming years as well as the models that are becoming established. <\/span>
\nSpain ranks sixth in terms of volume invested (170M$) and fourth in terms of number of companies (42).<\/span><\/p>\n

Companies that have received the highest amount:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Seagate technologies<\/a> founded in 1979, is a leading provider of hard disk drives whose improved capacity and speed has facilitated the development of the \"cloud\". It received a 691M$ round in 2011.<\/span><\/p>\n

After the aforementioned Seagate, Russia's Rostelecom <\/span>which is a telecommunications solutions provider offering cloud solutions with more than 100 million subscribers in 80 regions. It received 237M$ from Deutsch Bank and the Rusian investment Fund<\/a> <\/span>in 2013.<\/span><\/p>\n

In third place is Soundcloud<\/a><\/span> the online platform for sharing and distributing music. It has received a total of 123M$ in 5 rounds from 9 investors.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Although if we take into account the biggest round, Six Degree<\/span>s<\/span><\/a> leads the list with a round of 94M$ in 2011\" comments Diego Guti\u00e9rrez of Abra Invest.<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Analysis of the acquisitions per activity:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

o The number of acquisitions has been relevant in the years 2010 to 2013 showing signs of consolidation of business models. <\/span>
\no The \"software\" segment leads the ranking, having accounted for 9 of the 17 acquisitions in 2013.<\/span>
\no The next segment is \"Enterprise\" with 7 acquisitions out of 16 in 2012. <\/span>
\no In the years 2008 to 2011, video game activity in the cloud was consolidated.<\/span><\/p>\n
