Investors have seen European cloud computing companies as a source of opportunity. As a result, investment rounds are growing by 30% each year and since 2009 they have established themselves as one of the preferred sectors for investment.<\/span><\/address>\n

From 2009 up to and including 2013, a total of 704 investment rounds have been registered, mainly led by venture capital<\/strong>. This figure represents a year-on-year growth of over 30% and a total invested volume of 3,373M$.<\/span><\/p>\n

Great Britain, with more than 1,715M$ of investment and 198 registered investments, leads the ranking of countries, doubling the investment over the second (Ireland), with 839M$ and 41 rounds<\/strong>. Ireland, is receiving the recovery accolades<\/span> being a reference for gurus such as Mark Vidal.<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Interestingly, the two funds<\/strong> leading the ranking by number of investments, Enterprise Ireland <\/a><\/span>and Hig-tech Gruenderfonds<\/a>,<\/span> The Irish and German governments, respectively, are involved.<\/span><\/p>\n

Analysis: models that are consolidating and models to come<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Significant numbers of companies being acquired by corporations or receiving large amounts of investment foresee the consolidation of business models. For example, segments such as data warehousing, security, marketing applications and content management.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the other hand, 60% of the rounds are still in the \"angel\" phase, making it possible to foresee the emergence of new models. For example, the segments of bigdata tools, collaborative models, and other categories such as the Back-end<\/strong> as a Service or Data as a Service.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The trend is also continuing in Spain<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In Spain, investors' interest in cloud computing has also been strong. In our research unit www.logic-fin.com<\/span><\/a> we have registered a total of 40 companies which have received funding<\/strong> in 80 investment rounds.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the field of security Prot-on<\/a><\/span> and Panda Security.<\/a> <\/span>In the field of network and hosting, the following stand out Gigas,<\/a><\/span>\u00a0Abiquo <\/a><\/span>and linkovery.<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
