The key M&A transactions<\/a> and mergers and acquisitions<\/a> in Spain continued to grow, reaching 110 operations in October for a total amount of \u20ac14868M. This represents an increase of 5.77% in the number of operations and 92.72% in the capital mobilised compared to September.<\/span><\/address>\n

More and larger transactions than last year<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

En Octubre de 2014 ya se han superado el n\u00famero de operaciones de compra realizadas en 2013. Adem\u00e1s las operaciones realizadas este a\u00f1o tienen un importe medio mayor que el del a\u00f1o pasado. Si el a\u00f1o pasado el importe medio de las M&A transactions<\/a> and mergers and acquisitions<\/a> fue de \u20ac53M este a\u00f1o est\u00e1 siendo de \u20ac75M.<\/span><\/p>\n

Among the big deals this year were the purchase of Jazztel by Orange for \u20ac3.4 billion, the interest from AstraZeneca<\/a><\/span> in the respiratory business of Almirall<\/a>\u00a01,562 million, the purchase of Vodafone <\/a>by Ono <\/a><\/span>for \u20ac7.2 billion or the acquisition of Caixa Cataluya Bank.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cEstas operaciones permitan que Espa\u00f1a vuelva a estar entre el top 10 de M&A transactions<\/a> and mergers and acquisitions<\/a>, marca que no se consigui\u00f3 el a\u00f1o pasado\u201d afirma Diego Guti\u00e9rrez de Abra-invest.<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\"Another novelty this year is the origin of the money, traditionally Spain has been a country where national companies buy national companies, but this year the volume of purchases by foreign investors has exceeded that invested by national buyers, which shows us the confidence that foreign countries are putting in our country\".<\/span><\/p>\n

Most active sectors in October<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The technology and Internet sectors were once again the most active sectors in October, with 20 and 15 transactions respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n

Of particular note is the purchase of Trovit <\/a><\/span>the Barcelona real estate classifieds meta-search engine, by the Japanese company Next Co<\/a><\/span> 80 million.<\/span><\/p>\n

The real estate sector has also been quite active in October and has been the protagonist of 10 transactions.<\/span><\/p>\n
