In 2013 Venture Capital invested $$3.7B in mobility, consecutively raising investments in excess of $1 billion over the last two quarters of 2013.<\/span><\/address>\n

Mobility: a wide range of possibilities<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The mobility sector encompasses many activities, which at the same time belong to different sub-sectors, from music to food, from sport to e-mail.<\/span>
\nCompanies providing CRM tools were preferred by venture capitalists, ranking first in terms of deal volume (7%). Among these, the following stand out\u00a0Draper Fisher,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0which obtained funding from Juvetson Selligy.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"In Spain, these types of companies are also gaining momentum.\u00a0Social and Loyal<\/span><\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>last year it raised its third round of funding of \u20ac120,000,\" says Diego Gutierrez of Abra Invest. Among its shareholders are well-known business angels such as\u00a0Fran\u00e7ois Derbaix<\/span><\/a>David Tomas, Marta Esteve,\u00a0Yago Arbeloa<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0and also\u00a0Caixa Capital Risc.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
\n\"In Spain\u00a0Telef\u00f3nica<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/a>has, of course, taken centre stage, with operations such as the\u00a0Everything.me\u00a0<\/span><\/span>or\u00a0addfleet.\u00a0<\/span><\/a><\/span>But there have also been several operations led by business angels such as the Seville-based\u00a0Icinetic\u00a0<\/span>or<\/span>\u00a0la gijonesa\u00a0DNA context\"\u00a0<\/span><\/a><\/span>says Diego Gutierrez, the group's corporate finance expert. Abra-invest<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Companies involved in advertising and\u00a0Marketing\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/a>and those dedicated to providing location-based services are in second place (5%).<\/span><\/p>\n

If we take into account the number of operations carried out in each sub-sector,\u00a0security (<\/span><\/a><\/span>10%) and\u00a0travel<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0(9%) are the sectors with the highest number of transactions in 2013.<\/span><\/p>\n

Investment in early-stage enterprises<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Series A and seed capital investments constitute 70% of total venture capital investment in this sector. Of particular note is the increase in Series A investment, from 30% in 2012 to 34% in 2014.<\/span><\/p>\n
