Investors are backing companies that develop software for the education sector such as the $9.5M raised by\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/catalog.flatworldknowledge.com\/\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/catalog.flatworldknowledge.com\/\" data-cke-saved- target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\">Flat World<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0last January.<\/span><\/address>\n<address><!--more--><\/address>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Software for education<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In 2013, more than 50 companies involved in the development of software applications for the education sector received a round of funding. In total the 50 companies have managed to attract more than \u20ac250M.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\"Investments are being directed towards content development.\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/techma.bakertilly.es\/en\/el-big-data-aplicado-la-educacion-atrae-los-inversores\/\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/techma.bakertilly.es\/el-big-data-aplicado-la-educacion-atrae-los-inversores\/\" data-cke-saved-><span style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\">digital education<\/span><\/a><\/span>The new collaborative platforms, the dissemination of educational videos, and the education of creative thinking to the youngest,\" says Diego Gutierrez from\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/techma.bakertilly.es\/en\/\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/techma.bakertilly.es\/\" data-cke-saved-><span style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\">Abra Invest.<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Flat world knowledge: open-source for textbooks<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Founded in 2007, Flat World Knowledge is the largest publisher of open-source university textbooks for students worldwide. Committed to making higher education more affordable and accessible, course content is available in a variety of low-cost formats, including a free online reader. The latest round has been registered this January 2014 for 9.5M, accumulating the company a total of 35.7M raised.
