Programme for the Improvement of the Competitiveness of SMEs in the European Union<\/i><\/span><\/h6>\n

Programme objectives:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Improve the competitiveness and sustainability of Union enterprises, in particular in the tourism sector.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Promote entrepreneurship (business creation, new entrepreneurs, prioritising young people and women).<\/span><\/p>\n

Improve SMEs' access to finance, through two instruments (\u20ac1.4bn envelope):<\/span><\/p>\n

Aid modalities:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/b>Venture capital fund (equity loans). Equity facility to invest in SMEs in their expansion phase.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fund to provide loan guarantees to SMEs. Up to \u20ac150,000 for any type of SME.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Improving access to markets within the EU and globally: support services will be provided to growth-oriented companies through the Enterprise Europe Network and the SME Information Centre on Intellectual Property Rights in China.<\/span><\/p>\n

Main beneficiaries:<\/strong><\/span> <\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

Existing companies (especially SMEs): facilitating their access to financing instruments that allow them to develop, consolidate and grow their businesses.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prospective entrepreneurs (including young entrepreneurs): to provide them with advice on setting up their own business.<\/span><\/p>\n

Local, regional and national authorities: equipping them with the tools to carry out effective policy reforms (statistics, best practices and financial support,...).<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Budget:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

2.3 billion euros between 2014-2020, of which approximately \u20ac1.4 billion will go to facilitating access to finance.<\/span><\/p>\n
