Growing investment by emerging countries in developed countries<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In the last 5 years the flow of capital from emerging countries to developed countries is greater than in the opposite direction according to a\u00a0EdTech sector study<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0de\u00a0Pwc<\/span><\/a><\/span>. American technology startups are no exception, from\u00a0Alibaba,\u00a0<\/span><\/a>REnRen,<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0Tencent<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0etc., Chinese investors are stepping up the pace of investment<\/strong>. From 2007 to today, Chinese and Taiwanese investors have completed 156 deals totalling $2.6Bn and in 2013 it has reached its peak.<\/span><\/p>\n

Alibaba and Tencent: the most active corporations<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

According to information from\u00a0CBinsights,<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0The most recent and largest operations include the investment<\/strong> of Tencent in\u00a0Fab.com<\/span><\/span>\u00a0for $150M in Series D in June, that of Alibaba in\u00a0Quixey\u00a0<\/span><\/span>by $50M in Series C and the investment of the Hong Kong-based\u00a0Shining Capital Management\u00a0<\/span><\/a><\/span>in\u00a0JustFab<\/span><\/span>\u00a0by $40M.<\/span><\/p>\n
