$1.4Bn of investment in the last year<\/strong><\/p>\n

Topping the list of the most active investors are heavyweights like\u00a0Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers\u00a0<\/a>and\u00a0Andreessen Horowitz<\/a>\u00a0with 13 deals each. KPCB's latest cybersecurity financing rounds include AlienVault and\u00a0\u00a0Ionic Security.\u00a0<\/a>KPCB also participated in a funding round in 2011 for\u00a0Mandiant<\/a>the Virginia-based information security firm that exposed China's military unit in hacking with US corporations and government agencies. Andreessen Horowitz, meanwhile, has recently been involved in a number of early stage cyber security deals, including a Series A round in\u00a0BlueBox,<\/a>\u00a0Seguridad Pindrop\u00a0y\u00a0CipherCloud.<\/a><\/p>\n

Following the purchase of anti-virus company McFee in 2011, its investment arm has been very active with several sales in the cyber security sector in 2012. Among the latest cyber security exits from\u00a0Intel Capital<\/a>\u00a0intelcapital<\/a>includes the security company\u00a0Credant Technologies<\/span>\u00a0(acquired by Dell), as well as\u00a0Solera Networks\u00a0<\/a>adquirida por sistema Blue coat).
